DESCRIPTION

O-rings are the most common and cost-effective sealing elements available. They seal over a wide range of pressure, temperature and tolerance. They are an excellent option where space limitations are a concern. And with proper hardware design, o-rings can seal a wide range of pressures from low vacuum up to several thousand PSI. O-rings are available in a wide range of elastomers as well as PTFE.

Hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR, HSN): Hydrogenated nitrile is a synthetic polymer that results from the hydrogenation of nitrile rubber (NBR). Superior mechanical characteristics, particularly high strength, helps reduce extrusion and wear. HNBR is widely used in the Oil and Gas Exploration industry for many surface and down-hole applications.

HNBR o-rings are available in 70 and 90 durometer. Other durometers are available on request. Specialty compounds also available for higher temperature resistance up to 320F.

Chemical Resistance:

ALIPHATIC HYDROCARBONS (BUTANE, PROPANE, NATURAL GAS).
VEGETABLE AND ANIMAL FATS AND OILS.
HFA, HFB AND HFC HYDRAULIC FLUIDS.
DILUTED ACIDS, BASES AND SALT SOLUTIONS AT MODERATE TEMPERATURES.
WATER AND STEAM UP TO 300F.
OZONE, WEATHER AND AGING RESISTANCE.

Not compatible with:

CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS (TRICHLOROETHYLENE AND CARBON TETRACHLORIDE).
POLAR SOLVENTS (KETONES, ESTERS AND ETHERS).
STRONG ACIDS.
