DESCRIPTION
The BABSL and TCN style oil seals have a short, flexible spring-loaded sealing lip making it preferable in pressurized units without additional backup rings e.g. for rotational pressure sealing in hydraulic pumps, hydraulic motors, hydrodynamic clutches. These seals can resist operating pressures of 50-150 PSI, and there are special designs that can operate up to 350 PSI.
The BABSL and TCN seals provide reliable sealing of the housing bore, even with increased roughness of the bore, thermal expansion and split housings. This style also has an additional dust lip which acts as an additional seal against moderate to medium dust and dirt ingress from outside.
These seals come in both nitrile (BABSL or TCN) and fluorocarbon (BABSLV or VTCN). In instances where thermal stability and chemical resistance is needed, the fluorocarbon version should be used.
