DESCRIPTION

The MPSA-58 double-acting piston seal combines a main seal with bearings to produce a very robust, heavy duty seal assembly for two-piece pistons. It enables the use of of larger clearances and with the integrated bearing rings minimizes the required piston length.

The main seal is a fabric reinforced rubber and the bearings are made of polyacetal. When compressed by the housing the MPSA-58 double-acting piston seal provides effective low-pressure sealing. As system pressure increases, the rubber portion of the seal deforms to the housing, increasing the sealing area and improving the seal.

The fabric reinforced rubber provides strength and durability, retains lubricant and keeps friction low, reducing wear. The polyacetal bearings react to pressure on the seal to prevent extrusion damage as well as to support the piston during side-loading.
