DESCRIPTION

The PS1500 profile is a bi-directional piston seal for use in low to medium duty hydraulic applications and is suitable for sealing against hardened surfaces in pneumatic applications. The PS1500 is a simple two piece design comprised of a standard size O-ring energizing a tough polyurethane cap.

The PS1500 offers long wear and low friction, and because of its short assembly length, requires minimal gland space on the piston. The seal is commonly used in applications such as agricultural hydraulics, mobile hydraulics, machine tools, and hydraulic presses.

The PS1500 is molded from tough tough 60D polyurethane. During the molding process, a .002" thick band of molybdenum disulfide is molded into the outside diameter of the seal ring for reduced friction.

The PS1500 is completely interchangeable with the PS1400 PTFE piston seal. PS1500 piston seals are easily stretched over the piston and recover rapidly with the eliminateion of the "cold flow" characteristics found in PTFE seals
